These are the 2012 contestants of the first ever American Airgunner Challenge:
Carie is a devoted wife and a mom of four. She is a real estate agent that grew up shooting with her dad in his backyard. She still enjoys shooting her handgun with her dad and never thought she’d shoot in any type of competition.
Donnie has been married for 30 years. He has 20-plus years of competitive shooting experience with firearms—Bowling Pins, Pistol Silhouettes, and Cowboy Action Shooting. He and his wife fostered children for over 20 years and enjoy hosting exchange students. Donnie hasn’t shot an airgun since he was a kid.
Lyndon “Duke” Nobles
The Duke is a jack of all trades. He recently made his debut as a UFC fighter and he teaches mixed martial arts to about 50 kids. Duke has been a shooter since his first BB gun at age four, although his adult firearm training is close quarter combat with a shotgun. He claims to be walking the Earth looking for the answers.
Nathan is 22 years old. He is involved in Christian ministries and is a self professed competitor and talented marksman that enjoys recreational shooting. Nathan is looking toward a career in law enforcement.
Nikki is 19 and began shooting competitively at age 15 at local IDPA matches. She now enjoys Multi-Gun and USPSA competitions. Nikki and her family own Nighthawk Custom Training Academy where she enjoys teaching women how to effectively use a handgun.
Steve is a husband and a father of two. He teaches auto mechanics and is a recreational firearms shooter who shot airguns in his youth. Steve loves life, meeting new people, and learning about new technologies—which led him to apply for the Airgunner Challenge.
Robert is a prolific and enthusiastic competitive shooter who competes in USPSA, Pro-Am, Multi-Gun, Sporting Clays, as well as Steel Challenge. He has a genuine passion for the shooting sports which is evident by his participation shooting matches around the country.
Zac is 28 years old who by the time he was 24, had been married and divorced and traveled half way around the world with the Navy. He has small firearms training and has spent some recreational time shooting airguns.
