What sets Tom apart from other airgunners is his dedication to the Speed Silo competition. He has dissected that competition to the point of knowing exactly how to win it, how many tenths of a second each shot should take, which pellets to use and why, and how to set up for the shoot using both magazine and single shot loading techniques, etc.

Tom considers himself to be a “Top Shot” because of his experiences with the Speed Silo competition. Fast target acquisition has become his game. He’s been referred to as a “machine”! At speed competitions, he’s the guy that others are measuring themselves against. He’s the guy they are gunning for. He’s the guy they are trying to “keep up with!”

Seriously though, in Hunter Field Target Ian competed in the 2010 UKAHFT National Series Championships, winning two rounds and then the prestigious UKAHFT Matchplay Championship. He also placed 2nd in the 2010 BFTA Anglo-American Championship. In Field Target, he won the BFTA Grand Prix Series C-Class in 2010 along with placing second in the 2010 AAFTA US National Field Target Championships in Maryland.

Ian has hunted with airguns all over the world, from big game in Africa, Europe and the USA through to small game adventures in the wilds of Alaska.
